Sean Cowhig

Head of Improv

 

Sean Cowhig is an actor, writer, producer, and improviser. He teaches improv for the Professional Conservatory Years 1 & 2, January Start Conservatory, Summer Conservatory, and Film and TV Intensive. He advises Solo Shows in Year 2 and has directed Rehearsal Projects in Year 1.  Sean is one of the founding members of the comedy group Dr. God, a staple of the LA improv scene. He has performed thousands of live improv shows in cities across North America including; Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Providence, Austin, Phoenix, Tampa, and Montreal. He can currently be found on various stages with Dr. God, veteran super group Est., his new show Jenn and Sean’s Improvised Playlist, as well as in numerous other shows in LA’s thriving improv scene. Solidifying himself as a multi-hyphenate, Sean wrote and acted in his first feature film, Bloodsucking Bastards which premiered in the Slamdance film festival in 2016. He wrote for and appeared on several episodes of talking head style show “MOCKpocalypse” on AXS TV and worked as an executive producer, writer, and series regular on the animated series “Hell Den” available on SYFY/Peacock. Sean is classically trained in Shakespeare, spent time in Russia learning acting technique, and graduated from Emerson College with a BA in Theater Studies. He is a born and bred Bostonian who will do the accent upon request and loves all the teams you hate.
